The reading The woman who died in the waiting room by jeneen interlandi newsweek, july 12,2008. Is about how a woman was ignored in the waiting room of a brooklyn hospital and died due to bloodclots in her legs. The writer is is trying to state how people across the country who are poor or uninsured are for the most part neglected from proper medical treatment. I agree with the writers statements and facts.
The writer states how public hospitals across the country have had issues with providing phsyciatric care to poor and uninsured people since the 1960;s. Th is statement makes a lot of sense due to what I see on the streets. I'm always seeing drunk homeless people passed out right on the sidewalk. And it always takes for ever for the ambulance to assist those people. As oppose to a regular person getting better assistance. I always wonder if those homeless people passed out on the street ever get any real treatment when they get to the hospital. If two security guards and staff members ignored Esmin green in the state she was in I guess in a lot fo areas it;s no better for those homeless people.
The author also states that the unfortunate mentally ill should be provided a place in society. I feel the same exact way the writer does. The reading also mentions how the unfortunate mentally ill patience wait twice as long as other patience. In my opinion they should have special hospital that are provided to those who are uninsured or simply people who are just poor. This country puts all its money towards building jails, they should have enough money to make this kind of hospital possible.
Therefore I feel that we are all human. One person shouldn't get treated better because he or she has more money than the other person.

Revision of catw 1
The reading An education in citizenship is about the dispute between in and out of state tuition rates. The writer of this reading states how out of state u.s citizens are being neglected and are paying more for college tuition than in state citizens. The writer also states how illegal immigrants are granted the same tuition rate as in state citizens. The author feels that it is absurd how citizens born in the u.s have to pay a higher tuition rate in other states, but illegal immigrants receiving the same tuition rate as in state citizens.I disagree with the author in this reading.0-
The writer states how the government seems to put the law of human rights in the backseat. And how the government really isn't doing much to uphold the law of human rights.By making out of state u.s citizens pay more for college tuition than in state citizens and immigrants. The reason I disagree with this is that if the immigrants are unable to pay for tuition it leads to more young people being involved in negative activities.Such as gangs, drug dealing or drug using. It will limit the growth and success of citizens in this country immigrants or not. Immigrants coming to America have less of an opportunity than people born in America.
The author also states that out of state citizens should be granted the same tuition rates due to there parents federal tax going towards the Pell grants of the(in state colleges) Illinois university's budget. I do feel that there should be an agreement that all, in state, out of state, and immigrants in the u.s can pay the current (in state) tuition rate so that way it's more fair to all three parties.Whether that agreement can be accomplished or not I feel that granting immigrants a better opportunity to afford school is just like any other charity organization we have in this country. We should be looking to help people less fortunate than us. Besides the out of state citizens still
have schools within their own state to fall back on,immigrants do not.
Therefore I feel the author has some good points on this issue in the u.s. But I thing the author is overseeing that there are people out their that are way less fortunate than we are. Citizens in the u.s have been spoiled into thinking that we should always have better treatment than everyone else. If it was the other way around and immigrants had to pay more for college than all u.s students we would have nothing to say about it.

blog 3 Response to hype
In the hype passage author kalle lasn explains how big advertisement is in the u.s.The author explains the quantity of tv commercials, radio commercial and ads being distributed to the public.I agree with the points in this passage. One of the reasons I agree with this passage is when the author explains how theirs advertisements all around us.For example when I go online their are always ads on every website.Their are also alot of ad pop ups.Or whenever I go to the city everywhere I look there is an advertisement for something.Whether its an ad for snacks, clothes or electronics. Another reason i agree with this passage is how the author states the absurdity of today's advertisements. The amount of advertisements being mentioned by the author is a crazy amount.I know people that are always buying new things that they don't need just because they saw an ad for it.My cousin purchased a ipad when he has a desktop and a laptop computer. So in my experience advertisement is getting out of control. In conclusion the author is giving his readers his view on advertisement.By the author's quotes on how he would hear beethoven's ninth symphony in his head.I feel the author was from a time were ads were not as big as it is today

allegory of the cave
The allegory in the cave is a text about a man who lived in a cave only seeing shadows but views the outside world for the first time.He never seen sunlight or the sky prior to leaving the cave. When he first left the cave he would feel pain in his eyes due to living in darkness for all this time.People or other creatures were unfamiliar to him because he was used to seeing them as figures on the cave wall.He had to learn how to adjust to the outside world as oppose to living in a cave. The moral of this text is a man who lived a certain way his whole life now has to adjust to living in a completely different way

hype
In the hype article the author is stating how advertisement in the u.s has increased.I feel that advertisement will grow even more in the near future.I think that advertisement can be good for buisness but i feel that too much money goes into advertisements.I don't think it is good for the country if we put all that money in one area

blog 1 hype
In my essay im going to explain the negative and positive of marketing advertisements. How it can be good for busness but bad for the economy.
Marketing advertisement such as tv commercials, radio commercials and etc are a good way to sell products.Everywhere we go we see an ad for something like snacks, hair products, clothing, and other items. Its a sure way to distribute whatever the item may be.
A negative about advertisements is the amount of money the us spends on a daily 12 billion display ads,3million radio commercials and 200,000 tv commercials. If a majority of this money was spent elsewhere like to rebuild schools, roads and trainstations. This can really help the u.s in other areas
In conclusion I think advertisements are good to get products known.but I also think that way too much money goes to advertising.
